From all the dis­cus­sion on the Alge­ria vs Egypt foot­ball game, nobody noticed the social class change among the Arab foot­ball fans.

They are no more back­ward pub­lic from the slums of the cities as they used to be, now they are young new gen­er­a­tion, twit­ter and face­book users, and easy to manip­u­late, bom­barded day and night with the new Arab gov­ern­ments slo­gans such as (Egypt first, Alge­ria first, Jor­dan first, Saudi Ara­bia …etc ..  few decades ago these slo­gans are con­sid­ered insults).

This explains why Mubarak regime uses the game to advance his son Jamal as the next Egypt­ian pres­i­dent, or the sud­den rise in Abde­laziz Bouteflika’s pop­u­lar­ity.
