What happened today?

What happened today is a dramatic twist in the events, the Kurds and the Shiites are in one front to face the Sunnis. seats from Nineveh, Salahuddin and Tamim provinces are given to the Kurds.

We don’t know what is Hashimi’s reacion because his website is blocked (see previous post) but there are some reports say that Hashimi is upset with the amendment and there are many pressures and threats ask Hashimi to veto the amended law.

The parliament decided discus Hashimi’s veto, with other two proposals, one made by the Shiites parties +the Kurdish Alliance, and the other made by Accordance Bloc+Allawi’s Iraqi List.

After 15 minutes that parliament decided to cancel the discussion on Hashimi’s veto, and to go ahead and vote on the two proposals.

Sunnis, Iraqi List and few Sadrists MPs withdraw from the building refuse to continue the vote but the majority inside was enough to continue with voting process.

So, where are we now?

I think (sure) Hashimi will veto the new law again, if he do that then this will be “lethal” veto because it means what ever others are going to de the election will be postponed.

I will update this, in case something new happens.
