Update — - Mp Haider Al-Abadi just added that Shiite parties are already trying to gather 60% votes to veto Hashimi’s veto. — -

No need to to report today’s event, because it is summarized by this Aljazeera report “Iraqi VP postpones veto decision” (including a video), but I need to add few things:

- The extend of the 10 days came after the exclusion of 4 days Eid Al-Adha.

- Just like Shiite parties orchestrating demonstration against Hashimi’s veto, Sunnis started to use the tactics, orchestrating demonstrations in Diyala province.

- This is very interesting, and we are going to hear more about it in the near future: Talabani rejected the transform of Maliki’s government into a “caretaker” government, while the whole “caretaker government” idea is already signed by Talabani.

But if we read this report on Jeeran, then we understand what going on:

“Talabani and Maliki are united against Hashimi, and Maliki announced his agreement with the Kurdistan Alliance in everything”

The deal as reported on Kuwaiti Al-Watan is the following:

Maliki agreed with the head of Kurdistan Regional Government Barham Salih, that a Kurdish parliamentary delegation to visit Baghdad during the next few days, to resolve all the differences between the Kurds and the Iraqi government in exchange for supporting Maliki against the “caretaker government” draft (voting code) in the parliament.

Which means more confrontation between Maliki’s Dawa Party and INA + Allawi’s coalition, so I don’t know if this agreement is good or bad news for Maliki. Just think that if Hashimi vetos the election law again, INA will not give Maliki his 165 votes needed to veto the second veto for free.
