Sources revealed to Qatari newspaper Al-Sharq that PA President Mahmoud Abbas during his visit to Lebanon next week, will discuss the security of the Palestinian refugee camps and the disarmament of the multiple Palestinian factions weapons that are in the hands of members of in Lebanon.

The source said that Abbas is trying to end the armed presence of the Palestinian opposition factions, particularly the “Popular Front, Hamas, and the Islamic Jihad”.

During his visit to Beirut, Abbas will also discuss the exchange of the new Palestinian passports among the 250,000 — 400,000 refugees. A move which is strongly opposed by the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, because it gives the right for the Lebanese government to cancel their residency in Lebanon and probably will evoke a new immigration to western countries.
