Hamas denied that Khalid Mishaal is mediating between Yemen and Iran on the Sadaa war, and total disappointment in Yemen government after the U.S. denied the existence of any connections between the Houthis and Iran (which means no U.S. anti-terror aid to Yemen), warns against attempts to portray the situation as a sectarian conflict, which is similar to Iran’s foreign minister Mottaki’s call to end the war with “peaceful approach”.
There are few calls from Arab writers ask to end the war peacefully, such as this article:
Thirty thousand Houthi fighters facing two armies, seven hundred thousand from the Yemeni side, and about three hundred thousand from the Saudi Arabian side, proves without doubt that the military operations can not end this war.
According to pro-government Yemeni website Nabanews, Houthis are preparing an end-of-war announcement with eight conditions:
- The release of the detainees, and reveal the fate of the missing persons.
- Compensation and reconstruction.
- The return of the deported teachers and civil workers.
- Non-militarization of the civil society or establishing military bases in villages and farms.
- End of the security, political, military and ideology targeting.
- The acceptance of the northern provinces residents without any racial or sectarian discrimination.
- A real infrastructure development of basic services without any discrimination just like any other region in the Republic of Yemen.
- No objection to our peaceful cultural freedoms.
