Hezbollah’s calm response to Al-Faisal’s remarks

Lebanese “New TV” reported today that King Abdul­lah of Saudi Ara­bia informed the Syr­ian pres­i­dent Bashar Al-Assad of Hariri’s visit tomor­row (he already arrived in Dam­as­cus). The time is very cru­cial, Hariri Inter­na­tional tri­bunal asked Lebanon to pro­vide a data­base of fin­ger­prints of the Lebanese cit­i­zen, espe­cially col­lage stu­dents for the years 2002–2005.

While every­body expected Hezbollah’s response to Prince Saud Al-Faisal’s remarks to be angry, the head of Hezbollah’s bloc in the par­lia­ment responded calmly away from the chaos and called for the need to focus on the pos­i­tives instead of negatives.

Sources said; Hezbol­lah is fully aware that the Saudi for­eign pol­icy is no longer con­trolled by Saud al-Faisal, but its directly han­dled by King Abdul­lah bin Abdul Aziz, espe­cially the Syr­ian issue.

Hezbol­lah also under­stands that Faisal was absent from the scene for the period of time and need a “the­atri­cal” appear­ance to return to the arena again. What Al-Faisal missed is the Arab and inter­na­tional under­stand­ing that the Hezbollah’s weapons are no longer on the nego­ti­a­tion table, and the same goes for res­o­lu­tion 1559.

in short, Al-Faisal words will not affect the rela­tions between Saudi Ara­bia — Syria, which is good and pos­i­tive for the region and the sit­u­a­tion in Lebanon, Which means Al-Faisal state­ment will not influ­ence the course of events.
