A new phase in Yemen government-Al Qaeda relations, next U.S. target will be Marib province

With the death toll rose to 82 per­sons most of the them women and chil­dren, because of the U.S. air raid on Al-Qaeda (Aljazeera video). Yemeni Pres­i­dent Ali Abdul­lah Saleh had the best day of his life when he received two phone calls from U.S. Pres­i­dent Barack Obama and Egypt­ian Pres­i­dent Hosni Mubarak, to con­grat­u­late him on the “suc­cess” of the Yemeni forces to bomb in what author­i­ties said was al-Qaeda base.

This is not good news for Ali Abdul­lah Salih, the South Yeme­nis are really angry, there were con­dem­na­tion demon­stra­tions in the south today and there will much big­ger demon­stra­tions com­ing Mon­day. Sources believe that the next con­fronta­tion with Al-Qaeda would be in Marib Province. In recent days Al-Qaeda esca­lated its activ­i­ties in the tribal areas, in the (Marib — Al-Jawf — Shabua) tri­an­gle. There are infor­ma­tion reported on Al-Masdar says that for­mer South-Yemen pres­i­dent Ali Salim Al-Beidh is right now in Lebanon,to meet with Lebanese offi­cial, but there no fur­ther details about who and why.
