Maliki’s visit to Cairo and the growing unemployment

Maliki’s sees Egypt as the “gate” to enter the Arab states” after many attempts rejected by Saudi Ara­bia and other coun­tries. The visit expected to end the Arab coun­tries boy­cott to Maliki’s gov­ern­ment after the U.S. occu­pa­tion, Arab States still have their reser­va­tion, and still con­sider Maliki’s gov­ern­ment does not rep­re­sent all the Iraqi peo­ple factions.

There will be some kind secu­rity and intel­li­gence coor­di­na­tion between Iraq and Egypt, which will sat­isfy and gain the sup­port of the U.S., but both sides stressed on improv­ing the eco­nomic relations.

With Maliki telling the Egypt­ian media that the Iraqi mar­ket will be open for the Egypt­ian invest­ment. Iraq will wit­ness a kind of “Egypt­ian labour inva­sion” dur­ing the com­ing months, will the Iraq suf­fers from grow­ing unem­ploy­ment accord­ing to the last data released by the UN.

Egypt­ian sources said that Egypt, which has recently strained rela­tions with Alge­ria harmed the Egypt­ian invest­ment, Egypt eying the Iraqi mar­ket as re-employment alter­na­tive, as was the case about twenty years ago, when mil­lions of Egyp­tians work­ing in Iraq.
