If the U.S. air raid on in Yemen on the civilians achieved anything, then it strengthen Al-Qaeda presence in the area, and pushing the Yemeni tribes to “cooperate” with the organization.
A state of concern, dominated the Yemeni street, waiting for Al-Qaeda reaction, as former Al-Qaeda member Abu Al-Fida’a told Aljazeera:
This bombing raid is Obama’s gift to Al-Qaeda, the organization can legitimize the battle now … Those Al-Qaeda members who had a truce agreement with the Yemeni government, will justify their future operation targeting the U.S.
Yesterday’s demonstration in Abyan province — Yemen, a man claiming to be Al-Qaeda’s leader told the gathering addressing the Yemeni army: “Our is not with you, but with the Americans”.
The most important development today, is that “kingmaker” Al-Ahmar tribe represented by their political party “Al-Islah”, condemned the bombing of civilians in the South calling it “irresponsible crime”.
Most of the dead in Obama’s bombardment were members of the Southern tribe Ba-Kazam, who declared a war against the government.
The Yemeni government joined by the Saudi propaganda machine, are trying to connect the Southern opposition with Al-Qaeda and Al-Houthis in the north saying that these three are working togather to weaken Yemen.
Personal opinion: If such connections exist, the Yemeni government will be toppled in hours.
In his article on Al-Quds Al-Arabi, Yemeni writer Bin Farid ridiculed such connection saying: “the Saudi Al-Arabiya TV behind these lies”, but Abyan governor “Ahmad Al-Mesery” put his government and the Saudi media in a very embarrassing position when told Aljazeera: There is no connection between Al-Qaeda and South-Yemen opposition.
