Embarrassed by the world wide rejection of the steel wall on the Gaza border, one “genius” Egyptian politician suggested to change the name from “Wall” to “facility”, in the future the Egyptian media will say this: “Egypt builds a facility at Gaza border” in the Egyptian media.

I share Dr. Mohammed Saleh Mesfer view of he wrote before and today: I am pessimistic from any move Hosni Mubarak makes outside Egypt, especially to the Gulf States, it is a sign of a war is coming soon. He visited the Gulf States before the U.S. invaded Iraq, another visit before Israel attacked Lebanon in 2006, and other visit before the Israeli attack on Gaza last year.

Much worst, according to Al-Manar, this time it’s not a war, it is a summit:

The U.S. supported by the European Union intensifies its contacts with “moderate” Arab States in Cairo in January with the participation of the UN to announce the resume of the peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.

Which you can tell from Abbas visit to Saudi Arabia today.

As long as the summit will be held in Cairo, the idea is laways welcome for the Egyptian government, and that is the reason behind leaking this “new” information: “Egypt FM: Netanyahu is serious about renewing peace talks”.

Related to the Palestinian issue, Head of the Egyptian intelligence Omar Suleiman visited Israel, tried to convince the Israelis to delay the prisoners exchange deal with Hamas till the end of the Palestinian reconciliation file, according to Al-Akhbar sources.

There is a truth in the above report if you read the statement released by Deputy-Chairman of the Political Bureau of Hamas Moussa Abu Marzouk:

If Egypt unable to manage the Palestinian [reconciliation] issue, then Egypt must leave it to another mediator.
