Saudi Arabia incites Damascus to condemn the Houthis

Saudi and Syr­ian news­pa­pers don’t give us enough infor­ma­tion about the rea­son behind the Saudi For­eign Min­is­ter Prince Saud al-Faisal visit to Damascus.

Mid­dle East Online revealed the unknown, “Riyadh ‘incites’ Dam­as­cus to con­demn the Iran­ian inter­fer­ence in Yemen”, say­ing:

A Saudi source revealed that the main goal of the Saudi For­eign Min­is­ter Prince Saud al-Faisal visit to Dam­as­cus is to inform Syria about the sit­u­a­tion on the Saudi-Yemeni bor­der, and Iran’s role in under­min­ing the secu­rity and sta­bil­ity of Yemen, and to urge Dam­as­cus to take pub­lic stands, to ensure the secu­rity the Arab region.

But, It seems like Syria refused the Saudi offer, as reported on Sana, releas­ing a gen­eral state­ment on the visit saying:

Both sides stress­ing keen­ness for the integrity and unity of the Yemeni ter­ri­to­ries, and for its sov­er­eignty and stability.
