The image below is one of the evidence used by the Justice and Accountability against Salih Al-Mutlaq. It is a document from 2002 shows that Salih Al-Mutlaq was in contact with the Iraqi Intelligence service, and as the paper says he worked for the service.

I don’t know if it is authentic or not, because Iraq is full with such faked documents (post continues below the image … ).

The Justice and Accountability released a statement saying that the list doesn’t stop with the 499 names, there will add more names, the number can reach up to 1200 candidate. At the same time Allawi announced his Al-Iraqiyya list, but what makes the (333) list special is: the only clerics-free list (Sunni and Shiite) in the election.

Mind you, this is not the top news of today. INA released the names of its candidates, and there were few surprises. From the 300 candidates Ibrahim Al-Jaafari came first (supported by the Sadrists), followed by Al-Zubaidi (aka Soulagh) and Ahmed Chalabi came in third.

I want to stop here a bit, because there are two candidates (Al-Jaafari and Al-Zubaidi) opposed by the Kurds, I bet part of Hakim’s visit to Irbil was to convince the Kurds to accept the both (support my candidates and I will support yours) kind of deal.

Also interesting to see the Adil Abdul Mehdi is not one of the top-three candidates (all his meetings in Washington with Obama and Biden for nothing).

Another Surprise is that the Sunnis in INA managed to obtain high-ranks in the candidacy, Naseer Al-Chaderchi came as number 9, followed by Al-Sharif Ali bin Al-Hussein Bin Ali, which encouraged Al-Hakim to hold a meeting a meeting with former House speaker AL-Mashhadani trying to convince to join the coalition.

For the Kurdish coalition, there are also few results (based on rumors), which says that the Kurds are ready to sacrifice the “President” post, because this position will lose a lot of powers in the next term, and become an honorary position.

More rumors from Kurdistan says that Kurdistan provincial president Barzani, addressed current FM Zebari that he can hold his position as a Foreign Minister in the next Government (he is in this post for three Governments). Zebari will be the Kurdish coalition’s candidate for Ninewa Province, and they will try to appoint him as a Vice-President or a House speaker in the next Government.

If we look to the Sunni side, there are three nominees for the presidency, Tariq Al-Hashemi, Ahmed Abu Risha and Saleh Al-Mutlaq, but with Mutlaq’s recent crisis, Abu Risha’s (who run with Bolnai) chances are increasing.
