Three weeks ago, on the “American Foreign Policy Council” somebody called Ilan Berman asked this question “Remember Moqtada al-Sadr?”
First, where is Moqtada? Here he is, hugging and kissing Al-Asaib leader Qais Al-Khazaali in Qom — Iran. Moqtada payed Al-Khazaali a visit in the Asaib Al-Haq headquarter to negotiate his conditional return to the Sadrists. Conditions put by Al-Sadr are: 1) Return to the central office (the Sadrists) 2) No interference in politics 3) Maintaining the blood of the Iraqis 4) Return to his studies.

Second, if my calculations are right, then Al-Sadr will finish As-Sutuh studies at the end of this year, he will graduate as “Mujtahid” which will give him more religious status and he have the right to give lessons sessions, but he is not nominated as Ayatollah yet. He needs at least another 10 years (I will not go to the details).
On the recent crisis political crisis, a strange twist of events, IHEC decided not publish the names of the excluded politicians publicly. Despite the reason given by the Committee says that there is a possibility that the final list of 511 contains “innocents”, the Committee assured that Mutlaq is among the excluded names.
All those writers who are interfering in Iraqi elections (from the American and Western view), forgot to mention that Allawi starts the threat to postpone the election if no solution reached to the current political crisis.
In his first speech announcing Al-Iraqiyya List, Allawi revealed that the U.S., EU and the Arab League promised to cancel the decisions made by the Justice and Accountability Committee. Allawi even revealed that he met foreign ambassadors, including the American ambassador.
These promises are started to become a reality after Allawi told Al-Arabiya the following:
The atmosphere is no longer suitable to hold a fair election in Iraq, we consider a withdraw and postpone the election, but this may cause a disaster.
Reactions of condemnations started to emerge from the U.S. and European Union question the legitimacy of the Iraqi elections.
In its trurn, the Justice and Accountability Committee criticized Biden’s condemnation saying that he [Biden] does not have the right to cancel an article in the Iraqi constitution, which was voted for by millions of Iraqis.
P.S.
Keep an eye on Ammar Al-Hakim these days, He met with Al-Hashimi today before heading to Beirut to start his Arab countries tour. For some reason (probably related to Adil Abdul Al-Mehdi visit to Washington) Al-Hakim and Al-Hashimi decided to intensify their meetings in the coming period.
