Jordan’s new Anti-Aljazeera policy: The mistake and non-mistake

The release of the statistics shocked the Jordanian Government. The figures show that Aljazeera is the most popular TV Channel in Jordan 65% of the Jordanians consider Aljazeera as the reliable local, Arab, international news source.

Jordanian writers started to write articles in favor of Aljazeera compared to the Jordanian local TV and Satellite Channels.

Al-Quds Al-Arabi reported that Anti-“Muslim Brothers” and Anti-Hamas Jordanian writer Salih Al-Kalab (years ago Hamas asked the Jordanian Government to silence Kalab) appointed as the head of the Jordanian TV, means more strict control on the official Jordan’s TV. Kalab gives a glimpse of his future media policy “Jordan is always right”:

Government makes mistakes, officials make mistakes, Jordan as a state never makes mistakes, this is the one thing Government and opposition must agree upon … Talking in satellite channels against your country is a mistake …  Agreement “Wadi Araba” with Israel is not a mistake.…

A policy implemented directly with banning Jordanian writer Mowafaq Al Mahadeen for criticizing Jordan’s foreign policy of helping the U.S. in Afghanistan saying that Jordan has one enemy, and it is Israel.
