The current crisis will ease and end soon, politicians will accept the U.S. wishes (if you don’t like the word “orders”), from the president and the Presidency Council, to Maliki’s office all will use their authorities to suspend the “J and A” decision, and to employ this crisis to score few election points.

Maliki who has lost much of his influence, political alliances and despite his support for the de-Baathification decision at the beginning, he felt that the authority is now being managed by Chalabi and his deputy, Ali Al-Lami.

Maliki decided to pull the rug from under the feet of his opponents and he want to appear as “last minute savior”, add to this to take a revenge from his nemesis Ahmed Al-Chalabi, who already started his anti-Maliki’s election campaign in South Iraq.

Maliki has issued an order signed by the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers Ali Al-Alak (image above), which do not recognize the Justice and Accountability decision on the basis that the Committee was not approved by the parliament.

A golden chance to Talabani’s “dying” influence and political party. He wants to emerge as the influential president how will solve the issue at the last moment. A government source revealed that the President Office will submit an initiative to resolve the de-Baathification decision crisis,

Al-Hashimi wants to turn the table on those who betrayed him, sources confirmed that the “Islamic Party” is part of the “candidates exclusion” plan to settle accounts with its former Secretary-General Al-Hashimi, providing the de-Baathification committee with information on Hashimi’s Al-Tajdid candidates, who joined Allawi’s coalition.

The paragraph comes from the Islamic Party’s statement:

Because of the importance of this issue, it needs to be treated carefully … The procedures must be implemented on all those who have negative indicators without politicizing the process .…

There are reports confirmed by Hashimi himself (in his daily evening chat on facebook) revealed the existence of a document proves the illegitimacy of the “J and A”.

The “J and A” can still argue its case that the Committee is directly linked administratively and legally to the Parliament, not to the PM office, or the Ministers Council, neither to the Presidential office. Any order to cancel the “J and A” must be approved by the parliament.
