The election (as I saw it)

Just returned from the vote center in the Netherlands. I didn’t cast my vote in this circus, but I went there to observe the situation, talking to people meet friends and to check who gets the most votes.

I noticed that many people chose to vote for secular parties, especially for Allawi’s list Al-Iraqiya, but there are also Maliki’s supporters.

People came from Western Europe neighboring countries to cast their votes in the Netherlands. I meet people and friends from Belgium, and France (700km).

The queue was very long, waiting time about 4–5 hours. I left the pol center on 17.00 and the queue was about 1 km (poll center will be closed at 18.00).

From what I read and watch, I think Maliki and Allawi are going against each others head to head.

Thanks for another excellent selection, Ladybird. Hamadani shows why the occupation has no future.

A real Iraqi army, and state for that matter, can only be built on the internal basis of Iraqi society. Saddam and the Baath did just that. That’s why they were destroyed. Now the traitors/collaborators are trying to counterfeit history with a Frankenstein’s monster of an army and state. Hamadani tells us in detail why they cannot succeed.

The big “election” turnout is a good thing. It’s just like voting for Obama over Bush. See what you “vote” for. See what you get.
