The beginning of the election results deadlock

Some interesting development happened today. Out of the sudden, Allawi’s Al-Iraqiya started to talk about a wide range forgery during the count process. Using strong words, Al-Iraqiya threatened not to recognize the results only if the Commission publishes the results of the manual counts of all the provinces.

Timed with few hints from the representatives of the European Union of a possibility that Iran stands behind the delay results in an attempt to change the results for the benefit of certain parties.

Head of IHEC admitted on Al-Fayhaa TV that the commission discovered 400 forged ballot boxes.

Iraqi National Coalition, who suffered a crushing defeat for the second time within a year after losing in the provincial elections in favor of the “State of Law” Coalition led by Al-Maliki. In an unprecedented press conference held by Ahmad Chalabi, the INA coalition announced that under a careful calculations of the results counted in 11 provinces (INA’s results, image above), by about 45,000 observers associated with INA coalition, the results showed that INA comes second behind the “State of Law” with 100,000 votes difference.

The INA results, which seemed a surprise to all politicians, observers and even for both “State of Law” and “Iraqiya” coalitions, seemed to be from the the tone used by INA leaders are beyond dispute. In an attempt to block the road on other results warning that a fraud will not be accepted by their INA’s members.

At the same time, the suspicious silence of the Electoral Commission is raising doubts about the the real causes of the delay to announce the results. All signs indicate that the blocs and coalitions will not accept less than their own recorded results and not according the Electoral Commission which is now accused of failure by everyone, unless it comes with results that satisfy everyone, which is apparently impossible.

While IHEC said that the delay is technical fault, throwing the blames on the server, Al-Sharqiya TV reported that an influential politician tried to change all the results data and put his coalition in the front with the cooperation of three IHEC employees. According to the TV the forgery attempt is discovered and the cause of the delay is to reenter the old Data back to the server.

AL-Iraqiya, issued a complaint asking why INA’s Ahmad Al-Chalabi, “SoL” Haidir Al-Ibadi, and “Sadrists” Baha’a Al-Araji were in IHEC, and in the computer room? But the most funny announcement is released by Al-Chalabi saying that there is a bug in the IHEC software, asking IHEC to release the source code of the software used to enter and count the votes.
