Israel’s anti-Syria propaganda at the eve of Syria-Egypt reconciliation

Syria already said that the renewed Israeli propaganda is part of diverting attention from its nuclear arsenal Part, Egypt sees this Israeli propaganda as a start of an Israeli campaign against the improved Syria-Egypt relations.

Israel raised the issue of “Syria sending SCUD missiles to Hezbollah” propaganda (pro-Israel Kuwait newspaper Al-Rai is the first one who started this), to cover its refusal to sign the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty.

Fast reaction from Israel telling its citizens to leave Sinai immediately as a response to the Egypt-Syria reconciliation. Cairo expects a visit from the Syrian president Bashar Al-Assad to meet Mubarak, his Egyptian counterpart to break the semi-frozen relations between the two leaders, that dominated the scene between the two countries for more than half a decade.

The information suggests that the current Israeli approach, is to create panic among Israeli and Western tourists (Egypt reported that only 430 from the 20,000 Israeli tourists returned home), to pressure against the full progress of the Egypt-Syria relations, which will strengthen Syria’s position in the negotiations.

The more bad news for Israel, is that leaked information says that Assad will raise the issue of the trial of “Hezbollah” cell in Egypt, who will probably be released a gift from Mubarak to Assad.
