Leave with heads low, military medals in the flea markets, the US celebrates its defeat in Iraq

(Thanks to Carlos Latuff for this excellent cartoon)

For the first time in recorded history, a State celebrates its war defeat. Its military ranks and medals ended up in Iraq’s flea markets.

Since 2003 and until the announcement of the US defeat the total number of US soldiers served in Iraq are about 2 million, 1 million contractors of security companies, and tens of thousands of US intelligence. In addition to hundreds of thousands of soldiers from countries that stood beside the evil forces of the US, the list includes Britain, Holland, Australia, Spain, Japan, Poland, Denmark and many other countries, all of which participated in the killing, the arrest and insulting the Iraqis.

To control Iraq, About 1.5 Million piece of advanced, sophisticated arms, some of these pieces even used as an experiment such as the Microwave. Air cover that includes “B-52″ bombers, F-16, Black Hawk and Chinook helicopters, with full control on the Iraqi airspace using electronic surveillance, and unmanned drones.

Starting their resistance from the first day of the occupation with the famous “Bring it on” message, the Iraqi resistance faced these advance war-machine armed with their faith in their cause and simple, primitive mortars and rockets developed mostly in the later stages of the invasion.

Adapted itself to Iraq’s geography which lacks mountains and highlands, at the beginning there was the improvised explosive devices. As simple as its gets, and connecting two cables to the charger and wait for the U.S. military patrol to connect the wires, Iraqi resistance ambushed the occupying forces in all the 32 roads that connect the American military bases in Iraq.

Among the 100,000 Iraqi resistance video documented attacks on the US forces, some of the Iraqi resistance members become more than a legend and “Juba — Baghdad sniper” is one of those. Iraqi resistance: THIS IS YOUR DAY.

A military and economic defeat, this is a day, all the Americans the military and civilians will remember as long as they could.

US forces, leaving Iraq .. but not going far, they are heading to Syria

According to Al-Hayat, there still four U.S. military bases in Iraq and three of them in the South, Both Maliki and Obama are using this circus for their election and propaganda interests.

The U.S. Embassy announced — coinciding with Maliki walking up stairs to his plane heading to the U.S. — the number of U.S. Embassy employees is 15000 employees, but a U.S. army general, said that the number is 16000.

Apart for the above figures, there are hints made today by the Iraqi Parliament Speaker Al-Nujaifi that Iraq will gives the remaining U.S. troops a “partial immunity”.

One thing Obama said it right: “The United States will be close”, actually very close because some U.S. military unites are heading to North Jordan or South Syria if you like which explain the “Free Syrian Army” sudden operations near the Jordan-Syria border.

US: Inciting sectarian strife, Muslim Brotherhood: To hell with Syria

In an interview with the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood [supported by the GCC, US, France and Turkey] official spokesman Zuhair Salem, he said the following:

To hell with the Syrian identity! We do not recognize Syria. Who created Syria? Is not the Sykes — Picot treaty .. Syria is a temporary state .. Our aim is to build an Islamic State.

Hours after interview with WSJ a sectarian clashes between Sunnis and Shiites in Homs resulted the death of at least 60 people from both sides, but very few people noticed ‘s sectarian remarks :

Alawites should be equal before the law, to have jobs in the economy, and have the chance to be employed in various sectors beyond in the security or army apparatus.

Few hours later, the US assistant secretary of state Jeffrey Feltman in a clear attempt to incite sectarian tension in Syria said the following:

Iran is actively engaged in trying to help Assad put down peaceful protests inside Syria. I cannot imagine that this is good for the long-term Iranian-Syrian relationship, and that is just fine with us.

Another sectarian remark from Feltman in his visit to Lebanon [probably to check his militia]:

Washington has been in touch with Syrian Christians not to stand on the side of the attacker.

By the way, Feltman in his meeting with the Lebanese PM Najib Mikati declined to answer a question about the CIA activities in Lebanon, saying:

I rather not talk about reports linked to the U.S. Intelligence and I have nothing to say about this issue.

Another Qatari bribery attempt

After we revealed that the mighty, wisely rich, talented and (beautiful) Gulf-State of Qatar attempt to bribe Russia, and Russia answered back lowers its diplomatic ties with Qatar. A new Qatari bribery scandal revealed by Jordanian newspaper Akbar-baladna:

On the sideline of the Islamic Conference in Saudi Arabia last week, a Minister of Foreign Affairs of the small Gulf-State had met secretly with his Syrian counterpart Walid Muallem, and offered him a permanent residence in a palace complex in the capital of his country and a bank account of $ 100 million Dollar, in exchange for Muallem’s defection from the Syrian leadership, and requests political asylum.

The Syrian Foreign Minister Muallem told his counterpart that he is the only Syrian official who is not a member in the Syrian Ba’ath Party which makes free to choose his position which based on nationalism no more. Muallem advised his counterpart that the Gulf-State may need these millions later in it’s war against Syria.

US still putting pressure on Iraq to sanction Syria

For many Iraqi politicians and coalition leaders, probably this is the last time they will see, meet and talk to the US Vice President Joseph Biden, who came with his 9 points demands, and each one is more dangerous than the other. One essential point is Iraq’s relation with Syria:

Maliki strongly refused [Biden’s point regarding Syria] to change his position, stressing that it is not because he likes Syria or Assad, but because his “love for Iraq”.

Having voted twice against Arab League’s sanction against Syria and news leaked that Iraqi fighters entering Syria, some to fight alongside the Syrian regime, and another to support the “Jihadists” against the regime.

Since Iraq is still under the UN’s Article VII and the US help to cancel this article is needed but depends on if Maliki’s government wants to respond to the US demands, this issue will cause a conflict between the American administration and the Iraqi government as it is supposed to change Iraq’s position as quickly as possible, And this is exactly what happened when Maliki offered to mediate between the Syrian opposition and the Al-Assad regime.

The U.S. administration believes that Iraq’s support to the Syrian regime clearly demonstrates the presence of external pressure on the Iraqi government referring to Iran, citing that Iraq declared its support to the protests movements in Egypt, Libya and Tunisia, while taking a negative attitude from the demonstration in Syria.

Syria-Iraq geopolitical overlap can outweigh the Syrian relation with other countries such as Turkey, Jordan and even Lebanon, especially with the timing of the U.S. withdrawal from Iraq.

Also there are several factors regarding the sociological nature of the border areas between the two countries where there are joint families, tribal and ideological relations which provide a suitable environment to merge as one entity, especially, the western region of Iraq and Mosul demand more autonomy from the central government. On the other hand, Iraq is a necessary geographic “bridge” between Syria and Iran.

This would lead to the disintegration of Iraq and Syria together, and later will effects Lebanon. This is the least scenario but it will widespread further than these three countries.

How Saudi Arabia and Qatar won the election in Egypt!

Islamic parties won the majority seats in the first round of Egypt elections, facts are the following:

- Freedom and Justice party (Muslim Brotherhood), won 40%, and the Al-Nour Party (Salafis) won 20%, Al-Wasat Party (Islamic Movement) about 6%.

- The defeat of the traditional political parties: According to Al-Wafd Party came in the fifth place, other political parties and forces ranged from 2% to 1%, and some to 0%.

We note that it has become certain that all results of the second and third rounds will be in favor of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Salafists and the Islamic Movement, because the first phase, which was held in major urban centers: the capital Cairo and Alexandria, Egypt’s second largest city. The second and third rounds will cover the rural areas, which are the strongholds of the Muslim Brotherhood and the Salafi Movement and other Egyptian jihadist movements.

Qatar and Saudi Arabia active role over the past months. Riyadh and Doha, offered logistic and financial support for the Freedom and Justice Party (Brotherhood), Al-Nour Party (Salafi) and poor densely populated Cairo neighborhoods.

Analysis

Egyptian businessman Naguib Sawiris revealed that Qatar has sent 100 million dollars of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Saudi Arabia denied this reported, but there are many rumors that the Saudi Gulf-State supported the Egyptian Salafis with 4 Billion dollar. But in interview in newspaper Al-Akhbar, a Salafi leader admitted that the support did not directly came from the Saudi government but though Salafi and Wahabi organisations and associations active in the Gulf-States.

Saudi Salafi cleric Adnan Alkhtiry in his recent visit to Egypt and in Friday ceremony in a Salafi mosque said the following:

It is impossible to establish an Islamic state in Egypt or in any other [Islamic, Arab] country as long as “there are the people dancing, singing and deal with the banks … This is a great opportunity for the people of Egypt to establish an Islamic state, do not emerge from the election empty-handed and leave it to those who don’t live the religious life.

Egyptian Sufi leader Ala Abuaezzaam condemned the raising of Saudi Arabia flags by the Salafis in Tahrir Square and called it: terrifying and betrayal.

Hours before kickstart of the election is Egypt, Egyptian Supreme cleric resident in Qatar and the Godfather of the International Muslim Brotherhood tweeted the following:

Yes, it is in the interest of our country the arrival of the Muslim Brotherhood and the Islamic Movement to govern! This is their place, and this is their role and duty.

The future

Expected that the confrontations among the youth of the revolution in Tahrir Square protesters, the supporters of the junta and supporters of Salafi/Muslim Brotherhood to worsen. It is most likely that the hidden hands will try to escalate the confrontations, giving justification for a possible military coup, which will enter Egypt in a new July Revolution.

Tiny Gulf-State Qatar challenges (bribes) Russia over Syria

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement revealed that the Russian Ambassador in Qatar had an “accident” at the airport in Doha and called to punish those who are involved in this act. The statement did not clarify the nature of this “incident” specifically!

Russian RT reported that the Russian ambassador and other Russian embassy officials were beaten the customs officers and police. An anonymous Russian diplomat related this incident to Russia’s position from the Syria’s crisis, saying:

It is clear that this is an insult because of the position from Syria.

Lebanese newspaper Al-Nahar revealed the background of the problem saying:

Russia rejected multimillion dollar bribe offered by wealthy and rich Arab countries offered to change it position from Syria and co-opt to the anti-Damascus axis. Moscow reaction to the bribe is showing more support to the Syrian regime.

Western Countries aim is to spur sectarianism and drive Syria toward civil war

Because the Syrian regular Army is still active and intact, we notice that the Western media and its stooge Arab Gulf-States concentrate on the terrorists organisation of so-called “Free Syrian Army”. Here is the BBC, Aljazeera with a video clip shows as much Kalashnikov as possible [after we revealed the US M-16 rifles] and the BBC again.

More evidence shows that the sectarian terrorists called themselves “Free Syrian Army”, not only hired guns and men [that 600 fighters from Al-Qaeda airlifted by the NATO from Libya to Turkey and Lebanon] from the NATO-Rebels in Libya. An operation kick started by the Zionist BHL, who ended his article in with a semi declaration of war on President Al-Assad.

Now correct me if I am wrong: Wasn’t one of Gaddafi’s crimes [according to the West] is his support to the “terror” group IRA?

Western countries are providing the so-called “Free Syrian Army” with advanced arms, night vision binoculars according to the Lebanese Al-Safir and satellite intelligence according to Le Figaro.

In reality, the West is supporting sectarianism because this is the only way to destroy the fabric of the Syrian society. This is the commander of the “Free Syrian Army” Colonel Riad Al-Assaad telling Al-Arabiya TV:

We will bomb the [Shiite] Alawites neighborhoods.

Syrian Nun Agnis told the Conference of Eastern Catholic Patriarchs that recently held in Lebanon the following:

We are nuns and we know the Christian situation around us, about 164 deaths of Christians in Homs alone in the past three months … Groups of armed men leaving mutilated bodies behind them everywhere .. The Syrian people are hostages by unknown terrorists gunmen using very sophisticated weapons.

Belgian TV RTBF visit Syria and came back with this report:

Christians are very concerned about the possible fall of the regime, who has always protected religious minorities … The armed struggle without any doubt supported by foreign countries, and Syria is on the brink of a civil war.

Syrian oppositions claim yesterday that the Syrian Army killed a 9 years old Christian child “Sari Ibrahim” in Homs, the video clip of his mourning parent tells a different story:

The terrorists are responsible for my son’s martyrdom…they targeted him while he was in front of a grocery store… Had the army been there, the terrorists would not have killed him .. Al-Jazeera, Al-Arabiya channels and those “dogs” [opposition] of the Istanbul Council responsible for the crime.

Mark George a French journalist and a blogger from the French Media Libre just recently came back from Syria reported the following:

Western countries propaganda reminds me with the media coverage in the Gulf-War, only the news of the Syrian oppositions are reported. All images and videos of the Syrian demonstrations for the support of President Assad are censored by the French mainstream media.

Iraq — Sadr’s “Mahdi Army” in Syria?

Video clip shows the announcement of the formation of the “Free Anbar Brigade to support the Syrian People” in Iraq in its two operations targeting buses transport Sadr’s “Mahdi Army” to Syria [as the Brigade claims] escorted by the Iraqi regular Army.

Earlier this week Anbar’s Governor Qasim Al-Fahdawi said that he has evidence of armed members of the Mahdi Army are transported to Syria to help the Assad regime against the rebels.

Syrian oppositions claim that 100 buses carrying at least 4,500 armed Sadr’s militias crossed the border the Syrian border, headed towards the Deir Al-Zour city.

Syria: The war plan and the psychological warfare

There is a reason behind Syria’s silence and not responding to the Arab initiative, not responding to Turkey and US threats.

US nuclear aircraft-carrier deployed to the Syrian shores, Turkey and Arabs threaten with imposing sanctions, US issued a warning to its citizens from traveling to Syria and no-fly-zone France with it’s safe zones. All are tests balloons and Syria knows it.

A Kuwaiti newspaper even published the military intervention plan:

Arab air forces will bomb the targets, perhaps with the participation of Turkey and U.S. support, the goal is to parlayse Assad’s military forces in less than 24 hours. As for when? The newspaper’s source answered: When the AL gives the Green Light under the charter of “protecting the Civilians”.

The bomb campaign will be preceded by imposing a no-fly-zone on parts of Syria which will prohibit the movement of the Syrian military vehicles. This ban will cripple their ability to bomb cities as punishment for peaceful protests.

The scenario of a Turkish invasion is unlikely because this will lead to a long-term confrontation with the Syrian army, but Turkey showed its willingness to provide logistic support such as allowing the use of airports.

And the bombing targets:

- presidential palace (People’s Palace)
– The 3 headquarters of the intelligence services.
– Military communications
– Ammunition magazines.
– Missile launchers, land-air and land-land.
– Radar systems
– Headquarters of the fourth battalion.
– Houses of senior officials and officers.

But according to Lebanese Al-Nahar, this is an unlikely scenario and foreign intervention in Syria is out of the question, not even by turkey.

Added that the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad knows the dimensions of the situation very well, the international and economic situation is not ready to start a new war in any part of the world, and this is the case when it comes to a state still effective, such as Syria.. Even the Arab countries are also in trouble because the Arab initiative is not the solution, and the same situation applies to Turkey, who can not risk confrontations on its borders.

Softening its language, Turkey started to play down its former threats of military intervention, after Syria played one of its effective cards against Turkey allocating a PKK camp near the Turkish border, has at least 150 Kurdish separatists insurgents.

The US failed to pressure Syria’s neighboring countries (Lebanon, Iraq and Jordan) to participate in the economic sanctions. Jordan Prime Minister officially apologized from the US delegation saying that his country would not be bound in any sanctions against Syria, because it could hurt and affect Jordan’s trade and economy. Saying:

If you use Article 7 from the UN charter to impose sanction on Syria, then we will use article 50 which excludes neighboring countries.

Many of the election candidates including Obama, promised their supporters to withdraw the forces from Iraq and Afghanistan to get a majority. Starting a new war would be a “quagmire” and a political suicide.
