Libya, the Zionists are coming

A propaganda story published on all Western media trying to “romanticise” the story of a Libyan Jew returned to Libya to restore a 56 years synagogue planning to ask the return of 37.000 Libyan Jews. The media censored the best part of the story, which is the Libyan reactions:

Insisting that Libya will be run based on Islam, Head of the Libyan rebels in Benghazi Abdullah Masood Drissi said:

The return of the Jews Properties and re-open the synagogue is a strange and surprising, because the Jews are not expelled out of Libya by Qadhafi’s regime or the government but they are expelled by the Libyan people after they celebrated in Benghazi and Tripoli the Arab 1 defeat 1967 in the 1967 war with Israel.

Jews belong to the Zionists Movement and not to Libya, If the return they will form an Israeli Intelligence unite. The NTC should release a statement denies this Jew’s claims or the Libyan people will topple the new regime.

On smashing the door of the synagogue, Islamist leader Al-Sallabi said:

The NTC and its executive office are two who decide to open the Synagogue or not , the people of Tripoli will have a strong reaction to this incident, but it seems that the NATO rebels started to act.

Iraq: Al-Sadr blocked the Kurds deal with Baghdad

Few hours after the Kurdistan Alliance declared its determination and the political will to negotiate the oil law and to visit the Supreme religious authority in Najaf, Moqtada Al-Sadr announced his clear rejection of federalism before the Kurds take this move.

It is unknown yet whether the Supreme Shiite cleric Sistani, who refuses to receive Iraqi officials will exclude the Kurdish officials of this decision or not, but Al-Sadr’s rejection to include the disputed areas around Kirkuk province to the Kurdistan Region means that the Shiite coalition failed to unite its position as well as not having a unified stand on the current crisis with the Kurds.

Al-Sadr’s rejection statement to include the predominantly Shiite areas in Diyala Province to Kurdistan would declare the failure of the Kurds mission in advance.

International solution for Syria: A dysfunctional State

As Simon Tisdall described the situation in Syria as:

Syria is moving inexorably from Arab spring to an ever darker, dangerous winter of discontent.

Sources say that Arab and international communications to find a solution for the political situation in Syria. The formula is something similar to this in Iraq and Lebanon according to Al-Anba’a newspaper.

The sources confirmed that the solution goes as follow:

The presidency to the Alawite minority, an executive authority to the Council of Ministers that will be dominated by the Sunni majority, the Parliament to the Christians minority and to secure an appropriate post for the Druze sect.

A sectarian division based on religion already tried in Iraq and Lebanon and the result are failed states. The one thing this formula ignores is the silent battle among the Syrian oppositions, particularly seculars and Islamists.

Iraq, Algeria expose the Libyan NATO-rebels

In meeting held yesterday [Tuesday] in the UN in New York on the Libyan situation, Iraqi Foreign Minister Zebari revealed that the European special forces fought alongside the Libyan rebels. Zebari said:

Not only the air raids attacks on Tripoli and other places, but I can tell you that there were also special forces, European troops on the ground to fight Gaddafi.

He added:

They are inspired by the Iraqi example

In meeting with his party members, Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia also hinted the following:

In some Arab revolutions, many things were not innocent with the presence of foreign hands. The international interests are immoral, but in the diplomacy language “they are legitimate”, Each country has its own agenda in Libya.

Iraq: trying to revive the sectarian conflicts

In 2007, influential Shiite cleric Abdul Aziz Al-Hakim (Father of Ammar Al-Hakim) started to rally the Shiite masses to form the Iraqi “South and Middle Region” which is something similar to the Kurdistan region. The people behind this sectarian division released a propaganda campaign posters (image above) for the support of this project. The only thing wrong in the poster is that the South region “swallowed” a huge part of Anbar province and given to Karbala province (compare the above map with this one).

The project is totally forgotten after Al-Hakim’s “Islamic Supreme Council” suffered heavy losses in the election, but the old division scenario started to revive again after the murder of 22 Shiites pilgrims which take the country back to days of the sectarian clashes.

Shiite voices including these of the Sadrists started once again the calls to include Al-Nikhaib area (a shiite pocket inside the Sunni Anbar province) within Shiite Karbala Province. Other Shiite clerics and politicians started to provide so called “evidence” that Al-Nikhaib belongs to Karbala based on a tapestry from 1939 (see image below) in the British Museum.

Leaked draft Libyan constitution: The Islamists are coming

According to the leaked copy of the Libyan new draft constitution (first edition), that Libya after Gaddafi will be a democratic none-central State . The presidential term will not exceed four years to be renewed once, with the existence of federalism rule for some provinces.

The four papers called the “Call for the Transitional National Charter” highlights the reasons and circumstances which led to the revolution. In the first article the draft explains that Libya is an independent state, a democratic decentralized country, Islam is the religion, and the principles of Islamic law (Sharia) is the source of legislation.

The second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh articles of the draft constitution are general principles and clichés that guarantee freedom of opinion, the press and the media. there are also mentions to the freedom to establish political parties, unions and associations.

The eighth article, is the establishment of Parliament (or semi-Parliament – maybe the idea is based on Islamic Shura Council) under the name “The Supreme Legislative Council” solely responsible for the issuing laws.

Regarding the government, the ninth article is: Libya’s civilian government is headed by a civilian Prime Minister with an executive authority responsible to the Legislative Council (Parliament) (This means that the Parliament intended to have more powers than the government).

Article 13 of the draft, is that Libya’s future will be the administrative provinces have the legal rights to adopt an autonomy system (this is the only reference to the federations system)

P.S.

It is very clear that draft is designed so that the Islamists will dominate the Parliament (and probably, the head of the State), leaving a weaker Prime Minister post to the secular.

U.S. forces to extend its presence in Iraq for another 6 months

As every person with little knowledge on the politics and news in the Arab countries and the Middle east knows that rumors in newspapers are more authentic and reliable source than government and politician’s statements. This is what reported today on almost every Iraqi newspaper:

A sudden meeting of foreign ambassadors in Iraq held at the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad few days ago. The U.S. side explained to the United Nations Mission alleged U.S. troops withdrawal out of Iraq would be a formality, adding that the U.S. military will pull the soldiers whose term of service in Iraq would expire shortly and the unnecessary military vehicles.

The U.S. ambassador assured the foreign ambassadors of an existence of a secret agreement with the Iraqi side to extend the presence of the U.S. troops for another 6 months.
